There must be a balance between understanding and accepting where you currently are in life, knowing you want better (and are worthy of it), and then working towards achieving it.
Think good thoughts. Speak good words. Take good action. These are the fundamental building blocks for creating the life you want for yourself.
This change must start within you, though. You have to put in the effort to creating the life you want, and sometimes you may have a limiting belief that says you’re really not worthy of something better, not worthy of being truly happy. But that’s not true. It’s a lie that you have been telling yourself over and over again because things aren’t the way you would like.
“Intentions compressed into words enfold magical power.”
Deepak Chopra
However, when you start with changing your thoughts, letting go of the idea that you are living a life of scarcity and lack, and replacing it with the idea of the magnificence that is possible, you open yourself to all that you had previously closed yourself off to. Be kind and compassionate to yourself and to others.
Next, start speaking of the good that you intend to bring into your life. Replace complaints with words of gratitude and infinite possibilities. Welcome all the goodness that you notice throughout the day and keep your focus on looking for even more abundance.
“The smallest deed is better than the greatest intention.”
John Burroughs
Then start taking some sort of action toward the goals you have. This does not have to be a large action, just a small but meaningful step in the direction of your goal is enough to create the momentum you need to get going.
Repeating these fundamental steps every day brings you closer to living the life you dream of.
“To move forward simply set your intentions, be grateful for what you have, be open to what is possible, and the rest just happens as a beautiful and effortless flow.”
Bryant H. McGill
