If we refuse to let go of anything, whether possessions, grievances, or unhelpful thoughts and beliefs, our lives and our minds become more and more cluttered and chaotic.
Consider a hoarder who keeps everything, refusing to throw anything away: the physical areas of the home becoming so filled with ‘stuff’ that it crowds out space for anything else, leaving no room to walk or to navigate without difficulty. Not only does this cause physical and health hazards, but it also contributes to strained relationships and deeper emotional imbalance.
When we refuse to let go of old grievances, anger, resentments, limiting beliefs and unhelpful, critical thoughts, it is similar to being a hoarder. We let all the junk pile up and take up all our time and energy, causing mental, emotional, and physical disturbances.
As we finish up the first month of this new year, let’s notice what we have been letting pile up and start getting rid of the junk that does not serve us. This means really digging deep and examining the ugly stuff we have buried – the fears, limiting beliefs, unhealthy habits, etc. Once we have identified them, we can let them go! This will make room for what we truly want, that which will help us, and will raise our standards, and the vibrations of our frequencies! All we need to do is make adjustments, no matter how small at first, so we can begin to grow and develop into the person we want to be.
“Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?”
