Just Not Feeling It

I’m having one of those days where I’m just not feeling motivated or inspired to write. I am not feeling particularly creative, and nothing seems interesting enough to expand on. Everything just seems blah. Ever have days like this?

This is the perfect time for just resting and doing as little as possible. Some days a little me-time is required to balance out all the stress, activities, pressure, and busyness we have going on in our day-to-day lives. And so often we don’t give ourselves permission to do nothing, because we feel like we’re wasting time, being lazy or selfish, or feel like we must explain ourselves to others.

“Relaxation means releasing all concern and tension and letting the natural order of life flow through one’s being.”

Donald Curtis

But the truth is, we owe it to ourselves to just hit the pause button for a little while and honor our feelings, dig into those emotions, and just BE as we are, without judging ourselves. Doing nothing includes anything that doesn’t have a purpose other than enjoyment and relaxation, such as taking a leisurely walk, staring out a window daydreaming, taking a catnap, listening to music or the rain, watching the clouds float by, watching the sunrise or sunset, etc. A little time spent doing nothing can make a huge difference in how we feel in the long run.

“Taking time to do nothing often brings everything into perspective.”
