Stagnant Energy

Have you ever looked around at your home, or workspace, or community – I mean really looked – and noticed how the energy makes you feel? Does it feel easy and pleasant? Or does it feel cluttered and chaotic, leaving you with a vague (or not so vague) sense of unease?

We often become numbed to the energy around us, since we fall into habits and routines that we just go along with without really noticing how it influences us, in all aspects of our lives. It is important to take time to notice how the energy of the surrounding environment, the people, the stuff that we have accumulated, etc. is affecting us.

“If it doesn’t add to your life, it doesn’t belong in your life.”

If things feel cluttered, or we feel like we need a shift of some kind because we feel stuck, then take a few minutes to declutter or remove some of the unnecessary stuff that has somehow managed to find its way onto the kitchen table or counter or desk or bedroom. Even making small changes can clear up some stagnant energy and help things to flow again in an easier way. You may notice a health issue getting better, or maybe an improvement in your financial situation. These are all forms of energy and are all connected.

This week, really notice what you’re noticing. This means, pay attention to that which may have become ‘background noise’ or backdrop to your life. Pay attention to how certain people or places make you feel and do what you can, even if it’s just 5 minutes, to improve that energy. You will be amazed at what will result from this practice.

“We all have a million things vying for our attention. If you tell yourself that you don’t have enough time to clear out your junk, you might be delaying the well-being and relief you could experience by tackling it. If not now, when?”
