Each of us is a gift to the world. Within every one of us is the capacity for greatness and endless creativity. So many people feel they don’t have much to offer but it’s simply not true. We all have talents and skills and passions that are not quite like anyone else’s. They are uniquely ours. The key is to feel it and know it, and allow ourselves to shine, while letting others shine as well.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we powerful beyond measure.
Marianne Williamson
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And, as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
When we build on the foundation of our special traits, and use these tools instead of squander them, we only enhance what is naturally ours which allows us to reach our potential and fulfill our life’s purpose. If we are afraid to contribute our talents either for fear of bringing attention to ourselves or because we don’t want to make someone else feel bad, it does no one any good. When we share our gifts with others, and they, in turn, share their gifts with us, we can make a positive difference in the world.
“The person born with a talent they are meant to use will find their greatest happiness in using it.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
