As we usher in 2021, (can you believe it?) for most of us, it is the time of year when we begin to think about what we want for the New Year and make resolutions to change this or that. In addition to the usual resolutions that we make with good intentions, but which often fall by the wayside in no time, we can choose to make changes by educating ourselves on things we find interesting. It is a wonderful way to delve into something new.
Spend a few minutes thinking over what you would like to learn more about this year. What interests you and sparks your curiosity? What fills you with passion and excitement?
Letting go of old ways of thinking that no longer serves us will help us apply ourselves to clearer and more focused thinking. The clearer we are about what we want, the easier it is to achieve it. If we limit ourselves to sticking to the same old thought patterns, or if we don’t take the initiative to expand our potential, then we will never experience anything other than what we’ve experienced.
To grow and evolve, we must never stop learning; there’s always more to learn, more to discover, more to help us achieve things we always wanted but were either too afraid to go for, or we thought we somehow weren’t worthy of. Make 2021 the year in which you allow yourself to learn something new, pursue your dreams, and discover what brings you joy.
Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.
