I’m sure you’ve heard there are two days in every week that we should not worry about: yesterday and tomorrow. We cause ourselves so much added stress when we try to carry the burden of yesterday, tomorrow, and today.
Yesterday, with its mistakes, pain, joy, or bliss is gone. Whether we have regrets, or we want to hold on to ‘glory days’, living in the past is a futile endeavor. There is no way to bring back yesterday, no matter how much we wish we could, for whatever reason. Let it go.
Tomorrow is unknown to us, and as such, the potential for more of the same, or something better – or even something worse – is not something we should worry about. Worry, as I’ve mentioned before, is a misuse of imagination. Let it go.
Lately, I’ve been coming across messages that are along this line of thought. We always have faith, but when we worry, we have placed our faith in negative outcomes and worst-case scenarios that our fear has produced in our minds. When we relax and place our faith in the expectation that things are working out for our greatest good, then we only need to focus on today, this moment. That alone can be such a huge relief.
So, my thought for the week is to shift our perspective and let go of the worry for the past and the future, and choose to appreciate today.
Silently a flower blooms, in silence it falls away; yet here now, at this moment, at this place, the whole of the flower, the whole of the world is blooming. This is the talk of the flower, the truth of the blossom; the glory of life is fully shining here.
