Obligations vs. Burdens

As responsible people, we can handle a lot. At times, we can get enthusiastic and feel like we can do more than we realistically can. When that happens and things start to pile up, our energy and momentum will wane, essentially wasting our time with little to show for it.

We may think that if we don’t do it ourselves, it won’t get done properly, but the best thing we can do is cross things off the list that just aren’t that important to us and delegate those responsibilities to someone else. This way, other people will have a chance to show what they are capable of, and we can focus on what is necessary to us, making each of us able to do things more effectively.

When we remember our priorities and eliminate the ‘extras’ then we will be able to notice more opportunities for inspiration and growth. Decreasing the amount of burdens will increase our energy and we’ll feel more revitalized.

Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do.
