Disappointment

Disappointment is a part of life; everyone experiences it at one time or another. We may have our heart set on something, and if it doesn’t happen, we feel let down. When this occurs, it is important to remember that if we hold the thought that it may have turned out this way for a reason, then it can be easier to let the disappointment go.

If we check in with ourselves and pay attention to how we feel, we can face the challenges and disappointments of life with courage and grace. A good way to do this is to let go of a set outcome with the intention of, “may this or something better happen” and then things have a way of working out even better than we had hoped. Granted, it may not be what we initially wanted, but with time we may gain perspective to see how everything fell into place in a way we didn’t anticipate.

Struggle and disappointment are necessary ingredients to success both in the present and in the future.
