The other day someone made the comment to me, “You look happy today.” This kind of surprised me, as I wasn’t feeling particularly happy. Without thinking about it I answered, “Well, I’m trying to be.” The response to this remark was, “It is a choice, so it’s up to you.”
This momentary exchange has stuck with me because I know it’s true. I’m sure I’ve written about this before: being happy is a choice. We can choose to see things in the best possible way, or we can choose to be unhappy and see things negatively.
If we wait to be happy until this happens or that changes, we will always be putting off happiness and not taking advantage of the opportunities we have right now. Granted, things may not be the way we wish them to be ideally, but we can choose to believe that everything is working out for the best and be happy now.
Happiness is a present attitude and not a future condition.

An impressive share! I’ve just forwarded this onto a colleague who
has been doing a little homework on this. And he in fact ordered me dinner simply because I stumbled upon it for him…
lol. So allow me to reword this…. Thanks for the meal!!
But yeah, thanx for spending the time to discuss this issue here on your web page.
