“When you change your thinking, you change your life”. I’m sure you’ve heard this aphorism, or something like it, but is it true?
Thinking negatively and focusing on the unhappy parts of your life will bring more of that negative energy and unhappiness to you. There is always something else to be unhappy about, a reason to be in a bad mood, or some annoyance that really escalates, etc. That’s life. However, what we choose to focus on and how we deal with the less-than-ideal circumstances can really make a huge difference in the quality of our lives.
We have the power to change our thoughts, our perspectives, and our habits. Make a conscious effort to become more aware of your thoughts. Find something positive to focus on every day, no matter how small it may seem, and notice how you feel. Suddenly, you will find that you feel better, lighter, and it seems like there are more good things going on in your life. Of course, this does not mean that everything will always be coming up roses from now on, so to speak, but your outlook will be brighter and you will feel happier.
