What Do You See?

Have you ever looked at something, but you didn’t actually ‘see’ it? If you take your mind off your thoughts or worries, and actively see what is in front of you, you may be surprised at what you missed while you were otherwise occupied.

Look at your home or work-space. Is there anything you could do to make the space more inviting? Notice all the beauty in your life. Do you see your life filled with goodness, creativity, and peace?

Observe any blessings that you may not have noticed before and give thanks for them. Be present in this moment. The more you look for miracles or abundance, the more you realize they are right there, waiting to be seen.
It’s the simple things that can create happy moments in an otherwise ordinary day: sharing spontaneous smiles or laughter with someone, or a blooming flower growing in a crack in the sidewalk.

There are so many different things that can truly elevate your day to day experiences. Recognizing these moments, seeing them for what they are, and reflecting on them, can keep your focus on the present, and can boost feelings of joy.

It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.

Henry David Thoreau
